Rudy
Tee and The Reno Bops first appeared on the music scene at Sidney
Lanier High School in the 1955. In the early 1960's the group
began recording Spanish music as well as rhythm and blues. Their
music later established them as legends of La Onda Tejana or
what they then refered to as Chicano Music. Rudy Tee and the
Reno Bops had great success from 1946-1965 with hits such as:
"Un Ratito", "La Palma", "el Tejano
Enamorado", and "Sufres porque quieres." The
groupa also gained popularity with english titles: "Together
Again", "All I could Do was cry," and "The
Jerk Like Me" to name a few. Rudy Tee and The Reno Bops
spent the greater part of the 1960's and 70's on the road performing
thier well loved tunes thoughout the country. During the 1980's
and 90's the group settled down to Night Club Gigs and special
functions. |
Today,
Rudy Tee & the Reno Bops continue to record. The group currently
covers all styles of music including Country, Rhythm and Blues
Oldies and Bilingual Sound (cumbias, polkas etc..) Rudy Tee
currently works with the best musicians of San Antonio, performing
at special occassion shows and dances. Rudy Tee's showmanship
shines through whether he is performing with a large grup, in
a trio, or as a solo act. Rudy Tee & The Reno Bops are an
